Is This My Favourite Vegan Restaurant?

I’m not afraid to make bold statemnts on this blog. I have strong opinions and I rarely hold my tongue, instead I’m happy to blurt out what comes to mind.

And today I want to continue this tradition of speaking freely and tell you about my favourite vegan restaurant on the planet. Yes, my number one restaurant.

Read more below.

Tian Ran on Queensland’s Gold Coast is not about to be named on any fine dining lists or win a Michelin star, but it truly is my favourite place to eat on the planet.

The restaurant, just an hour or so drive south of my hometown of Brisbane, is a no frills, old school type of eatery specialing in 100% vegan pan Asian cuisine.

It’s the sort of food that screams comfort and the sort of decor that says low budget.

Spring rolls. Vegan drumsticks. Fried rice. Pad Thai. Salt and pepper tofu. It is exactly the type of food you imagine when thinking of a treat meal.

I popped in a few days ago after not being able to visit for two and a half years and things were exactly as I remembered.

Of course the emotional attachment and fond memories I have help this place score so highly, but the food really is delicious. It’s always a 10 out of 10 for me and I can’t see it getting knocked off my global number one spot anytime soon.

Extra note: there is a small selection of vegan choclates and pantry items for sale in the restaurant.
