The time has come to say goodbye to London Vegan Social.
This monthly event has been part of my life for about four years, but in truth, it was the continuation of something I’ve been doing for more than a decade. From the early days of London Vegan Drinks and London Vegan Potluck right through to the present, these gatherings have been a huge part of my life. They’ve been places where friendships were formed, collaborations were born, and where kindness was always on the menu.

Organising events like this isn’t the toughest job in the world, but it does take time, commitment, and heart. Month after month, finding venues, promoting the event, making sure everyone feels welcome, and creating a space where compassion could be celebrated has been a labour of love.
I’m incredibly proud of what London Vegan Social became. It wasn’t just a place to grab a drink or a bite to eat, it was a space that allowed people to connect in a city that can sometimes feel disconnected. Over the years, these events have helped create community, foster inclusion, and give people a chance to feel seen and celebrated for their kindness.
There are so many people I want to thank. The venues that hosted us during this latest chapter, including The Veg Box Cafe and Purezza, gave us space filled with warmth and great food. To all of the workers at those venues who made sure every event ran smoothly, thank you for helping create such a welcoming environment.
And to every single person who came along, whether it was just once or nearly every month, you are what made London Vegan Social special. Your energy, your conversations, your laughter, and your kindness turned a simple gathering into something much more meaningful.
These days, there are many ways for vegans to connect across London, but London Vegan Social (and the events that came before it) will always feel like the blueprint. They set the stage for what community-driven vegan connection can look like. I’ve been doing this kind of work for almost 15 years now, and I feel proud and grateful for everything it has brought into my life.
So, while London Vegan Social is coming to an end for now, this isn’t goodbye from me. I’ll still be involved in creating spaces for vegans and vegan-curious people to come together and feel celebrated for their compassion. In fact, this change just means I’ll have a bit more time to put into other projects, like the upcoming fundraising dinner at Unity Diner on November 3 or the monthly Queer Open Mic in Kennington.
Thank you for being part of this journey. It’s been something truly special.
Until I see you at a future event, please continue to eat, drink, and socialise… kindly.
