The Green Party of England and Wales has been a powerful force for years but since Zack Polanski was elected leader in a landslide, the energy has shifted up a few gears.
This isn’t the usual political noise we’ve all grown weary of. It’s a clear, hopeful message that cuts through the mess of greed and despair that has dominated our politics for far too long.
And I’m hopeful that many of you you will will consider voting Green at the next opportunity.
Read more below.
The party is now closing in on 90,000 registered members, which is no small thing. It’s a sign that people are finally ready to stop voting for the same old systems that keep delivering the same old misery. Zack’s leadership feels refreshingly no nonsense. The message is about hope, fairness, and a future where compassion and justice aren’t radical ideas but everyday values.
I’ve always shouted about social justice on this blog. I’ve always believed that kindness, equity, and community care are the foundations of any decent society. That’s why I’m excited about where the Greens are heading. They are unapologetic about wanting to tax the mega rich and redistribute wealth to where it’s actually needed. And honestly, about time. The obscene wealth disparity in this country is the biggest problem we face. You can’t have billionaires hoarding while people queue for food banks and pretend it’s a fair system. The Green Party gets this.
There’s a new campaign video out today and it’s worth your time (see above). It’s packed with the kind of honesty and heart that politics has been missing. It’s not just about saving the planet, though that’s crucial. It’s about saving people too.
I’m excited for what’s next. If you’ve ever felt politically homeless or cynical about the idea of change, maybe give the Greens another look. Hope is powerful, especially when it’s backed by action.
Watch the new campaign video, share it, and start conversations. Maybe the next election is the moment we all decide that compassion isn’t just an ideal but a plan for how we live together.
