If you’ve been around these parts a while, you’ll know I’ve got a soft spot for independent food stores that go the extra mile for plant-based shoppers.
And if you know me REALLY well, you’ll know that Out Of This World in Leeds has a very special place in my heart.

When I lived in Leeds, this was my shop.
My go-to for snacks, household bits, toiletries, and yes, the most spectacular vegan fudge I’ve ever had the pleasure of popping into my mouth from the deli counter. I was always dropping in for something and usually walked out with far more than I intended.
It’s one of those shops where your basket fills up without you even realising it.
This isn’t some half-hearted health shop with dusty old stock and a sad little fridge section. Out Of This World is packed. Frozen goods, fresh produce, chilled meals, bakery items, grab and go sandwiches, vegan pantry staples, cruelty-free cleaning products, sweet treats, and more plant-based options than you probably knew existed.
And that deli counter? A thing of beauty. The cakes and slices are absolutely worth a detour, even if you’re just passing through Leeds on the train.
The shop has been proudly serving the community since 2005, which is no small feat for an independent in a city centre location. It’s rare that a place like this survives the constant churn of changing high streets and rising costs, but Out Of This World has stayed the course.
And if you’re not in Leeds, don’t worry. You can still get a taste of the good stuff from their online shop. It’s brimming with vegan products and if you spend over £50, they’ll ship it to your door for free.
Out Of This World is open seven days a week. Here’s when to head in for a browse (and yes, you should definitely pick up something from that deli counter while you’re there):

Give them a visit. Spend some money in a shop that actually deserves it. Celebrate businesses that do the work. Out Of This World is one of the best we’ve got.
