I love random walks in London with no plan on where I’m going. You often stumble across a wonderful vegan surprise that you didn’t know existed.
That’s exactly what happened to me today and I’ve got two vegan Vietnamese sandwiches in my fridge to prove it.

As I was strolling along Mare Street in Hackney Central today, a lone gazebo caught my eye.
I got chatting to the very friendly person standing behind two trays of sandwiches and found out that he was selling vegan bánh mì. You’re all cultured and travelled enough to know that bánh mì is what Vietnamese people call sandwiches.
Vegan Biosphere is a vegan food business that runs a pop up cafe a few days a week and until recently, was selling on Ridley Road market.
The stall is now located on Mare Street, Hackney each Saturday for the foreseeable future, so drop down there to grab some of the fresh bread stuffed with vegetables, herbs, tofu, and vegan chicken.
