Wedge of cheese

There is a new vegan cheese on the block and guess what? It is wedge shaped! Is this a UK first?

I spotted the wedge of vegan cheese in a local independent health food store and I don’t think I’ve ever seen the brand before. The make is Vegecheese and it states on the label that it is made from organic, defatted almonds.

Check it out.

IMG-20141008-WA0004 IMG-20141008-WA0006As for taste, I wouldn’t announce Vegecheese to be my favourite dairy alternative but I imagine it would work well in a panini where you would welcome a mild, creamy cheese.

On its own, it wasn’t too impressive and I feel the texture could take some people by surprise.

What do you think? Have you tried this new vegan cheese wedge? Where did you buy it?

  1. I’ve never seen this one. Is it free from carageenan too?

    • I don’t know, sorry. I didn’t check and now it has been eaten and the packet recycled.

      • Aaah no worries. I’ll keep an eye out for it myself! 😀

  2. Tried it – it’s nice! Got it at Portobello Wholefoods.
