Ethiopian pop up
Do you all remember when I wrote about Muya of Kentish Town closing down? It was a sad day for people who love vegan Ethiopian food.
Dry your tears. I have some good news to turn the tragic mood on its head.
Muya is now in the business of running delicious pop up events and you can get along to one such night this week.
You can click here to book and find out all the finer details, but I really wanted to share the menu with you. It looks superb.
Introduction to Injera (Injera is a yeast-risen flatbread with a unique, slightly spongy texture, made of rice flour.) Shredded injera mixed with spiced chickpeas, fresh diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeno and olive oil.
Finely grounded chickpeas simmered in onion, ginger and garlic.
Lentils simmered with onion, garlic, ginger and berbere chili powder.
Fresh Spinach simmered in its own juice and herbs.
Ethiopian style fresh salad, mixed with lemon juice and olive oil.
Bulgur Wheat seasoned with kibe.
Served with injera.
Baklava with banana and strawberries
I spoke with Mimi (the person behind the Muya deliciousness) and she confirmed this is a 100% vegan affair, using only vegan gee.
The pop up event is being held in a venue near Old Street on Wednesday October 29, 2014 and will commence at 7pm.
Get along for a tasty night out!
