Something I’m having a hard time resisting
It is time for a straight up vegan food blog post. Sometimes I love simply describing a delicious meal and nothing more.
222 Veggie Vegan is a glorious restaurant situated in West London. If you want details on their fabulous vegan alcohol menu or their handy location, check my earlier post. This one is just a quick fix for serious vegan foodies.
All of the following was devoured during a recent visit Josh and I made to my favourite London restaurant (so far – I’m open to trying more!).
We started with the garlic bread. A wholewheat bun was lightly toasted and seasoned. It was crisp on the outside, moist on the inside and rather reasonably priced at £2.25. It was the perfect commencement and things continued on a positive projectory.
Josh ordered a dish named Seitan Stroganoff. When it arrived, I had to conjure what little willpower I possess not to pounce on the mouthwatering meal. For the sake of this blog, I was able to spirit a few spoonfuls onto my plate. This was for reviewing purposes only, of course. The menu describes the item as seitan strips, caramelised onions, fresh herbs and pepper combined in a creamy, cashew sauce. The stroganoff was perfectly complimented by a serving of brown basmati rice. The price tag for this might meal was £10.95. Money well spent indeed.
Next up on the table was my choice from the à la carte dinner menu, the simply-titled Vegan Roast. My plate featured an irresistible combination of potato/parsnip mash flavoured with herbs, succulent slices of juicy seitan and a steamed green bean/carrot medley. A pot of onion gravy nestled on the plate was put to good use. The meal was exquisitely balanced with just the right amount of everything. I paid £11.50 for the extreme privilege of eating this world-class dish.
When dessert time rolled around, Josh and I agreed to share a dish. In hindsight, I don’t know what we were thinking. 222 Veggie Vegan visits come around so infrequently, I should know to take advantage of every opportunity. Live and learn.
The Chocolate Gateau arrived on a plate with vanilla ice cream and a few pieces of fresh fruit for garnish. The frosting was decadent, rich and delectable. The sponge let the team down a tad but at £5.25, the cake solidified a stunning dining experience. 222, you’ve done it again.

Everything at 222 is delicious. I can’t decide if I like ordering from the menu or the lunch buffet more.
i am completely drooling over the stragonoff!!! WANT.
It was fantastic. Definitely would order it again. And I will be back!
[…] will have read about my first visit here and probably also saw my detailing of a subsequent visit here. Now let us return once again to discover what my favourite London restaurant has on offer for […]
Thanks for telling us about 222 when we met you eating vegan cupcakes at the health food/clothing store the week of March 20th. As recommended, we visited 222 and were delightfully surprised to find nothing on the menu that we cook at home (and we cook from scratch nearly every day!). All of the courses were beautifully presented and the entire meal was a gourmet feast. Thanks to you guys, we’ll be making at least one return trip there every time we visit from Dorset!
Hey there! I often think about whether you made it to 222. I am so glad you enjoyed it and that I pointed you in the direction. I might run into you there one day!
That would be great! And thanks so much for posting a reply to my post! You are always welcome to come and experience vegan food in Dorset! Thanks again for everything!
