Second location for London legend

This is grand news.

Cookies & Scream, one of my favourite places in London to grab sweet delights, now has a second location in the capital.

Screamers thank you so much for coming out to our little shop of treats! Y’all have a good night now #hollowayroad #veganbakery #glutenfreebakery

If you love what they have been doing at their Camden Lock location for several years, you really should get along to the new 100% vegan shop front on Holloway Road in North London.

Expect all the usual glory such as decadent shakes, cookies, ice cream sandwiches and the all-time champion of the universe… the Wookee bar. All gluten free too, if that is what you need.

Click here to see the store location on Google Maps and follow the bakery on Instagram. And tell them FGV loves them when you visit!

Vegan BBQ cooking class

My friend Nishma of Shambhu’s is planning a one-time-only cooking class that sounds super tasty.

Get over to Islington on Saturday June 11, 2016 from 2:30pm for a demonstration featuring the following dishes:

– Marinated tofu & vegetable skewers
– Cassava bites
– Marinated tofu in potato parcels
– Spicy vegetable masala toasted sandwiches

The whole idea behind the class is for people to be inspired to create BBQ suitable food without any meat or dairy. Sounds like a great plan! I especially like how you get to eat food after you watched how to make it. That is my favourite part.

You need to click here to find out all the details and to book a spot.

A visit to The Gate Islington

Post by:Click here to follow Josh on Twitter

The Gate is somewhat of an institution in London, dating back to 1989 when their original location in Hammersmith opened. The Islington branch opened its doors more recently in 2012 and benefits from a prominent corner position on St John Street at the end of Rosebery Avenue.

Vegan pub food

London, you have new vegan food options and they look incredible.

On the Holloway Road sits a live music venue called 12 Bar Club. This venue hosts live music and any given day will find punters enjoying indie, alt-country, punk, folk and rock ‘n’ roll bands.

This is all well and good but I promised you talk of vegan food, right?

Phil T’s at the 12 Bar is the new name for the kitchen inside this north London location. The menu reads like a gourmet rundown of British comfort food and every course has a vegan option. No, I don’t mean you have to ask for salad. Phil T and his team will serve you straight up, wholesome vegan comfort food and you can order it from the menu without having to freak out or nervously explain plant-based eating to your server.

Check out the feast Fran of Vx recently enjoyed in the restaurant. (Thanks for the pics, Fran!)
