Itis have a pop up vegan supper club in South London

Itis is a much-loved vegan street food trader that serves regularly at Hackney Downs Vegan Market and they put on very special supper clubs that you do not want to miss.

They have a Vegan Soul Food supper club coming up on Thursday November 1, 2018 at Space @ 61 in Peckham. They’ll be serving mac ‘n’ cheese, collard greens, mushroom ‘ribs’, fried chickn and loads of the soul food classics.

They’re bringing you an indulgent evening with hearty food inspired by Africa, the Caribbean and the USA. This is a rare chance to enjoy soul food classics done vegan.

Go with your takeaway containers – you’ll struggle to finish this feast!

One of the most-loved (and successful!) traders at Hackney Downs Vegan Market is Chanel of Vegan Delice.

Chanel’s cakes, slices, and donuts are one of the main reasons why so many people come back to our market each weekend.

Veganism and feminism event in London

Here is some last minute news for people in London.

Essential Vegan is a fabulous vegan eatery in Shoreditch that is celebrating being open for one year. Congrats!

To celebrate Essential Vegan‘s first anniversary, a conversation about feminism and veganism is taking place in their café between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday October 17, 2018.

Heloisa Righetto, co-founder of Conexão Feminista, will make a presentation about contemporary feminism and its key concepts. Afterwards, there will be a conversation with Essential Vegan chef and founder Vanessa in which these concepts will be expanded to understand the intersection between feminism and veganism.

You don’t need to buy a ticket but you do need to book a table in advance via their website!

One of the kindest and most talented people I’ve met in London is superstar food creator Jhenn a.k.a The Vegan Ronin.

Jhenn has cooked for me on several occasions and I can’t stress enough what a flair she has for creating sensational cuisine.

One of my first Jhenn-cooked meals was an intimate vegan dinner party at her house many years ago. Since that first dinner, I have marvelled as Jhenn has been internationally recognised and celebrated for her food skills.

Jhenn has recently re-jigged her exclusive supper club events under the moniker Ronin Dining and she has a fabulous line up of events coming up over the next few months.

Celebrating the witches and wizards inside all of us, sixty:2 brings you a magical twist on their signature immersive supper clubs. Get ready for their vegan Halloween supper club in east London on Thursday October 25, 2018.

This special Halloween supper club features exciting, explosive dishes and will be an extravagant showcase of the creativity of sixty:2‘s founder and head chef, Maudie Fraser. Seating is limited so book early.

The provisional menu looks fabulous:

  • Starter – Trick-or-treat pumpkin cauldrons with bubbling onion broth
  • Main – Wild mushroom confit and shrivelled greens on truffled kidney bean cobwebs with devilish dauphinoise
  • Pudding – Gory chocolate and berry fondant with salted toffee apple dust

BREAKING NEWS: Hackney Downs in vegan world first

This news is too exciting to keep to myself any longer.

I am thrilled to announce that Hackney Downs Vegan Market is set to become the world’s first full weekend vegan market.

Yes, that’s right. The market will be trading on Sunday as well as Saturday each week!

Hackney Downs Vegan Market has become known for being the friendliest market in London.

Starting as a one-off Festive market a couple of years ago, the market then experienced runaway success as a monthly market and enjoyed attendee numbers in the thousands. The crowd numbers were so good that we had to make the market a weekly event in order to control crowds.

The demand was certainly there so Hackney Downs Vegan Market became the first weekly vegan market in the UK.

Located at Hackney Downs Studios E8, the market has become well known as a destination for the best vegan street food in London. Many of our traders have used the market to springboard into bigger business ventures and we are proud to support independent traders on their journeys.

The popularity of the market means there is immense interest to trade with us and our waiting list currently holds more than 400 traders.

There is only one way we can start to give more traders an opportunity and that is to expand the market into Sunday. Hackney Downs Vegan Market will be the world’s first full weekend vegan market!

We look forward to welcoming you on September 16, 2018 for the first Sunday version of our market and we hope this gives many more of you a chance to spend time at the world’s most-loved vegan market.

Commencing Saturday 15 and Sunday 16, 2018 Hackney Downs Vegan Market will be a full weekend market, opening from 11am until 5pm on both days.

The market will be open every Saturday and Sunday.

I’m not sure where else you need to be each weekend. Our market has got BOTH days sorted for you with burgers, beer, cakes, cheeses, and so much more. Don’t forget that the Temple of Seitan operated TEMPLE GOODS vegan café is on site at the market and open all weekend with brunch, coffee, tea, and gorgeous baked treats.
