Are you up early on this fine Saturday morning with no idea how you can get the most out of life?
I have the answer.
Here are two fabulous opportunities to get your lips wet with vegan beer this weekend.
Opportunity the first is with Clarkshaws Brewery.
We’ll be open for tours of our new brewery and the chance to try exclusively available beers, including our Coldharbour Helles. The brewery taproom will open regularly on Saturdays from March, but this is your chance to get ahead of the crowd and visit the brewery before it officially opens to the public. The Beer Hive is a collaboration between Clarkshaws Brewery and London Beer Lab, and will expand to include other breweries in the coming months, creating a cooperative of microbreweries and letting visitors taste the work of different breweries all on one site.
Saturday 21 February, 12.00-18.00.
Arch 283 Belinda Road, off Coldharbour Lane, Loughborough Junction, SW9 7DT.Details: No need to book, just turn up on the day. We will be licensed for on and off sales so come by for a drink and pick up a bottle or two to take-away! Facebook event page here.
Opportunity the second is with Orpington Liberal Club.
Our next Beer and Cider Festival is on Friday, 20 February to Saturday, 21 February 2015
Festival times:
Friday, 20 February 5pm to 11pm
Saturday, 21 February Noon to 11pmYou must buy a ticket in advance, but THERE IS NO ENTRY CHARGE. The ticket is pre purchase of a voucher for the first two pints of real ale, cider or perry. Tickets are £6.00 over the bar or £6.40 online (people buying online should bring their receipt on the day to collect their vouchers). Vouchers can also be used for food. Soft drinks, wine etc will be available. All beer/cider/perry is just £3.00 a pint. Slightly more than previous festivals, but we are sourcing harder to get and more expensive beers.
We have 27 real ales plus ciders and perries. Following a number of requests, and given the big response we had to them last time, all the real ales will be free of isinglass finings. This means they may be a bit hazy, but they will be very tasty!
You can find out more (including line up of drinks) and buy tickets online.

I am thrilled to announce the return of London Vegan Beer Fest to the capital on July 18, 2015.
After two incredibly-successful years in Bethnal Green (during which attendance grew by more than 100% year on year) London Vegan Beer Fest is set to stamp its indelible beer stain on King’s Cross.
That’s right. London Vegan Beer Fest is moving to Zone 1.
The 2015 version of London Vegan Beer Fest is set to be an explosion of vegan beer, cider and food. An exciting day-long schedule of events is being planned to give attendees an immersive beer experience like no other.

After all the excess of NYE, Saturday’s menu at London Vegan Drinks is pure comfort food.
You will be able to choose from Cornish pasties, mushroom and vegetable pies or sausage rolls with sides of home cooked ‘skins on’ fries/sweet potatoes and a healthy salad for a mere £7.95.
If you’ve got a grand scheme for some sort of January detox, our host venue Kabaret @ Karamel will also be serving a delicious brown basmati rice superfood salad for £6.95.
Of course the entire bar, like the food menu, is 100% vegan and will include beer, cider, spirits, wine and champagne.
DJs will be spinning between 10pm and 2am. We have Supa B & Springz with fresh tunes following on from their triumphant New Year’s Eve set (people were jumping up and down… really) plus the inimitable Baroness Bamberforth playing pop, house, indie and DEVO!
This is the first London Vegan Drinks of 2015, so let’s make it one to remember.

I am slowly working my way through reporting back to you on the vegan wonders of Glasgow. I can see why it has often been named ‘Best vegan UK city’. The place is absolutely heaving with vegan-friendly eateries.
Take The 13th Note as one example.
This vegetarian cafe is primarily a live music venue, but food certainly doesn’t take a back seat. My group ate extremely well as you will notice from the photos below.
Here is a quick post from Paris about a fabulous vegan burger restaurant with two locations.
Actually, M.O.B. is a chain with three locations. Two of these are situated in Paris while the original is in Brooklyn, U.S.A.
My trip a few nights back to the Rue Charlot location in Paris was a tremendous success. Every part of the experience was gorgeous, from the food all the way to the decor. The person taking my order talked me through the entire menu and I couldn’t have been happier with the service.
Check out the photo below of my delicious smoked burger, kale salad and beer.
I would recommend this as a wonderful place to get 100% vegan food anytime you are in Paris. I wanna go back now!
Visit the M.O.B. website to see all their locations, menus and opening times.
As you know, London Vegan Drinks taking place this month is also a celebration for World Vegan Day.
I am expecting to welcome more than 150 vegans and their friends to Kabaret in Wood Green this Saturday November 1st, 2014 from 6pm onwards.
Kabaret is the fabulous 100% vegan bar and cafe co-owned by Louise Wallis, the person who actually founded World Vegan Day. Louise will be behind the bar and doing a few DJ spots, so make sure you congratulate her and show your thanks.
We also have a very special guest who will be chatting with attendees. Vegan legend Colleen Patrick-Goudreau will be mingling throughout the evening and will have a few copies of her books to sell and sign.
And then the food!
Anarkali is the resident chef at Kabaret and she has created a super fun bar snack menu for the night.
Revellers at London Vegan Drinks will be well fed with the following:
Handmade gourmet burgers
– tofu burger and salad on bun (can be gluten free on request)
– garlic sausage burger and salad on bun
7″ pizzas
– classic with tomato, cheese and basil
– spinach and mushroom
– margherita
– Hawaiian
– pepperoni
Extra toppings available for pizzas
Home cooked wedges featuring sweet potatoes and rustic fries
