I’m so old-fashioned. I often read the free community newspapers that you find near the front door of supermarkets. I like sticking my beak into local news.
Today I picked up a copy of the Islington Gazette and while flicking through the pages, I found out there is such a thing as a Paddington themed afternnon tea served on a double decker bus.
And there is a vegan option!
Read more below.

The article in the newspaper mentioned that a vegan option for this afternoon tea is available, so I popped onto the official website for the bakery. Brigit’s Bakery has a permanent location in Covent Garden, as well as running these themed bus events.
Take a look at the vegan version of the Paddington afternoon tea below:
Freshly Prepared Savoury Treats
– Almond Philadelphia & Cucumber sandwich
– Vegan Ham finger sandwich on tomato bread
– Mini Bun with Vegan Pastrami
– Vegan Quiche
– Best Marmalade Sandwich Ever!
Homemade Sweet Treats
– Vegan Pawprint Cookie
– Vegan Chocolate Truffle
– Vegan Carrot Cake Slice
– Vegan Raspberry & Cream Cheese Tart
– Vegan Chocolate Macaron
Freshly baked, Vegan Scone with a selection of Vegan Spreads
This vegan afternoon tea menu is available in the bakery and on the double decker bus.
During my investigation I couldn’t see an option to order the vegan version during checkout, so I phoned the bakery. They told me that you need to let them know you want the vegan option in the special requests field during checkout.
There are also options for adding a drink or even making the event bottomless with gin cocktails, prosecco, or champagne! Afternoon tea prices start from £40 (with a small surcharge of a few quid for the vegan option) and they go higher for the drink packages.
Visit the Brigit’s Bakery website to read more and book this special vegan experience.
