Photos From a Hackney Supper Club

Great news! Legendary vegan destination Black Cat Cafe in Hackney has committed to hosting semi-regular supper clubs.

These one-night-only menus are a celebration of creative and delicious vegan food, designed to give people a culinary adventure while also connecting with their community in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

Black Cat invited me along last night as a guest, so I wanted to use today’s blog post to share my photos from the event.

Bread starter

    Roast Cabbage

    Scallops

    Plantain

    Green Apple Sorbet

    Pineapple Upside Down Cake

    Cheesecake with Coulis

    Mint Ganache Bonbon

This meal was very different to what Black Cat is usually serving up.

The cafe has built a loyal following of comfort food lovers, especially the weekend crowd that enjoys the brunch plates. However, these special menus give the creative team in the Black Cat kitchen an opportunity to explore fine dining.

Everything I enjoyed last night was an elevated experience. Thoughtful and well-constructed, each course flowed seamlessly into the next. Highlights for me included the apple sorbet, the pineapple upside cake with cream, and the miso cabbage.

It was top shelf eating in one of my favourite vegan cafes in London.

I highly recommend following Black Cat on Instagram to stay updated with upcoming supper club dates. These intimate dining experiences should be experienced by every vegan and vegan-curious foodie in the capital.

Don’t use Instagram? All details are shared on the Black Cat website, alongside the regular menu and opening hours.
