I haven’t done any sort of ‘best of’ or ‘wrap up’ blog post in a long time. That kind of content requires discipline and I just don’t possess enough of that quality.
Instead, here is a lazy list of 5 things recently eaten by me that were impressive AND that I would eat again.
See all photos below.

This mince and tatties roll from Lovely Rita’s Bakehouse in Sheffield is exquisite. So good in fact, it was the inspiration for this blog post. Soya mince with roast potatoes inside flaky pastry. What’s not to love?!

I adore Scandi-themed cafe and bar Daun’s in London but I rarely branch out from my usual order of meatballs. Last week I decided to live on the wild side by ordering the vegetable and lentil soup served with sourdough toast. A risky choice but it paid off!

I’m in Sheffield as I type this so that is why you are getting two entries from the Steel City on this list. Yesterday I popped into Birdhouse tea room and cafe to enjoy a well-executed avocado on toast. So many gorgeous toppings including crispy pumpkin seeds.

Love Shack in East London is overflowing with delicious comfort food but my fave from a recent visit were these succulent hot honey wings. The kitchen team makes their own vegan honey on site and these breaded mushrooms are freaking delicious.

Pozole is a Mexican stew/soup which is served at times of celebration but you’d be hard-pressed to find a vegan version during your visit to the country. Fortunately for me I have a Mexican husband who loves to cook and gets a kick out of turning traditional recipes vegan for my enjoyment. This is one of the best bowls of food I’ve had in a long while. I’m trying to convince him to run a pop up supper club with me. Would you come along?
Does any of the above look appealing? Which one would you pick to try?
