Vegan Hungarian Dining Night in London

London does not get enough Hungarian vegan food. That is about to be corrected for one very special night this February.

Read more below.

Ofer Guez is hosting Green Paprika, an intimate Hungarian vegan supper at Chapel Market Kitchen on 24th February, 2026. The cuisine is a carefully crafted dinner inspired by his grandmother’s kitchen.

Ofer’s grandmother adjusted dishes depending on who was at the table, even adapting traditional Hungarian meals when her grandchildren became vegan.

That spirit runs through Ofer’s own cooking. He has worked in community and shared kitchens including the legendary Bonnington Cafe and has volunteered with FoodCycle and The Food Chain. His recipes have won The Guardian home cook competition multiple times.

Here is what you can expect on the night:

Chilled Sour Cherry Soup
Cherries, almond milk, garnished with toasted almonds, fresh mint and a pinch of white pepper

Pogácsa – Hungarian Biscuits
Soft, flaky, savoury rolls
Served with:
Körözött – Paprika “Cheese”
Creamed cashew and tofu spread with sweet Hungarian paprika

Lecsó – Slow-Cooked Pepper and Onion Stew
Green and red peppers, onions, paprika, olive oil

Goulash
Onions, root vegetables, mushrooms and roasted seitan, simmered with white wine and generous paprika
Served with:
Nokedli – Hungarian Dumplings
Hand-dropped flour dumplings

Cucumber and Dill Salad
Refreshing salad of cucumbers, red onion and fresh dill in olive oil and red wine vinegar

Gombóc – Hungarian Plum Dumplings
Potato dumplings filled with plums, rolled in buttery breadcrumbs, sugar and cinnamon

It all sounds sensational.

This is an intimate dinner crafted by a cook whose food has been shaped by family, community kitchens, and years of experience. It is a rare opportunity to sit down in London and eat Hungarian vegan dishes made with this level of authenticity and care.

It is also one night only.

Seats will be limited. If you want to be part of this gathering, book now:
