Whenever I post about vegan food served to me on a flight, I get a lot of visitors curious to see what I experienced.
I think the popularity of these posts can be traced back to the horrible experiences so many of us have been subjected to as vegan travelers.
For all of you plant-based jet setters, take a look at my meals from the recent Cathay Pacific flight I took from London to Brisbane, via Hong Kong.

The first leg on the journey took just over 12 hours, so that amount of time in the air called for two meals.
The first tray pictured above featured a delicious paccheri pasta coated in a type of pesto, mixed though with peas and tomato. This was matched with a three bean salad, fruit salad, a breadroll, and soya milk and vegan margarine. This meal was 8.5 out of 10 and I would be happy to eat it again.

When breakfast time rolled around, I was impressed by this tofu scramble featuring vegan sausage, grilled mushrooms, wilted spinach, and a tomato half. The usual bread roll and fruit salad accompanied, but for a change I was served dried apricots and raisins. 9 out of 10.

Following on from my 5 hour layover in Hong Kong airport (this journey is brutal), it was time for my 8 hour flight to Brisbane, Australia.
During this leg I was served a couscous and quinoa dish with steamed broccoli and what I think was some sort of squash. This tray also had a small salad and the fruit salad. Tasty and did the job, but this was my least favourite. I scored this tray 7.5 out of 10.
Overall I’m happy to say this is one of the best vegan food experiences I’ve had in the air.
I’f love to hear your experiences with vegan inflight eating.
