I can’t believe it has been a year already since I last wrote about Day of the Dead, but here we are!
Once again vegan Mexican bakery Pa’l Susto is hosting a special pop up stall inside legendary London cafe, The Black Cat.
Read more below.

Mexico is famous for sweet breads and pastries including pan de muerto, a specially spiced bun that is made to commemorate Day of the Dead every November.
It’s tough to find vegan versions of these breads but home baking business Pa’l Susto make a fabulous plant-based version and you can grab some for yourself at their pop up table inside The Black Cat in Hackney on Saturday 25th October, 2025 between 9am and 4pm.

My advice is to get down there as early as possible because last year they were cleared out pretty quickly.
Other treats that will be available include conchas and tres leches cake. Of course you also be able to but savoury food, hot drinks, and milk shakes from The Black Cat so you can make a full meal of it!
Pop this date in your calendar and be sure to follow Pa’l Susto on Instagram.
