Vegan Options Near Oxford Street

Perhaps you’ve heard of the vegetarian restaurant chain called Shree Krishna Vada Pav? It is a chain of vegetarian street food restaurants scattered around the Greater London area, as well as a bit further afield.

SKVP (as I will now call it) has a brand new location just off Oxford Street in Fitzrovia, central London.

Read more below.

This all-vegetarian chain has a menu of Maharashtrian favourites such as vada pav, misal pav, bhel puri and kachchi dabeli. It is all vegetarian with vegan options. Some branches even have special “no onion, no garlic” menus for diners looking for that.

This new location is on Eastcastle Street in Fitzrovia, just off Oxford Street. The prices seemed reasonable but during my visit, there was no clear labelling on the menu for what was vegan. You were expected to rely on the servers to explain what is vegan and what is not-vegan. I don’t like that as a customer. I want my vegan options explicitly labelled.

If you are looking for SKVP locations in other parts of the city and the country, search for them in Harrow, Hounslow, Slough, Ilford, Uxbridge, Wembley, West Bromwich, Croydon, Tooting, Vauxhall, Southall, Ruislip, Birmingham, Leicester, and Reading. So many locations!

I recently saw a headline stating that SKVP is aiming to have 100 locations by 2030. Wowsers. It would be lovely for them to say goodbye to the dairy on the menu, as well.

You can read more about the meat-free menu on the SKVP website.
