Bank Holiday Vegan Picnic in London

A bank holiday in London when the weather actually plays along is a special thing.

The city loosens up a bit, the parks start humming with life, and we all collectively pretend we aren’t as stressed as we really are.

And on this August bank holiday, there’s an extra special reason to gather up your vegan snacks and head outside.

Read more below.

Liv, who is a familiar face at my events and someone who knows her way around a community get-together, is hosting a relaxed vegan picnic in Hyde Park on Monday 25 August, 2025. She’s the sort of person who can turn a few sandwiches and a patch of grass into a proper day out, and I have no doubt this one will be a lot of fun.

The group will be meeting from 1pm by the Boat House Kiosk, right near the lake. Get along to set up nearby with your picnic blankets, your cool bags, and your cool refreshments.

Following on from her recent Vegan Sports Day (yes, there were snacks involved between sprints), Liv’s also lining up a casual game of rounders. No need to panic if your catching skills are questionable. It’s entirely optional, and spectating with a packet of vegan crisps is very much a valid contribution.

What to bring? Well, your own food is a given. Maybe something to share if you’re feeling generous. Plenty of water or your drink of choice. A picnic blanket if you have one. And because we all love the planet as much as our snacks, reusable cups, plates, and utensils will make things just that bit nicer.

Public loos are nearby, so no need to factor in an emergency dash halfway across the park. On the day, there will be a post of the live location within the Drooling Vegans WhatsApp group (part of the London Vegan Network), so even if you arrive fashionably late, you’ll find the group without doing laps of Hyde Park.

Whether you’ve been coming to vegan events for years or you’re brand new and looking to meet some friendly faces, this is the sort of afternoon where you have a fab time. Sunshine (hopefully), good people, and the simple joys of a picnic.

Bank holiday Mondays don’t get much better than that.
