Vegan Venue In Windsor

Windsor might be best known for a certain royal residence, but you need to know about a place in town that is far more exciting to me than any palace.

Other Space Arts is a grassroots arts venue, plant-based kitchen, and bar that opened towards the end of last year, and it is doing a stellar job of putting inclusive community values front and centre.

Downstairs you’ll find a bright and welcoming café space serving vegan dishes that are flavour-packed and thoughtful. Head straight for the Tofu ‘Fish’ & Chips, or find yourself tempted by the OSA oyster mushroom tacos and the freshly made focaccia sandwiches. I’ve been told the menu is about to get even bigger and better with new breakfast and brunch dishes plus more sandwich flavours.

Upstairs is where things really get lively. Since March, the venue has been hosting performances from grassroots artists across a gloriously wide range of genres. Punk, hip hop, soul, electronic, folk… you name it, they’re giving it a stage. The space is a home for creativity in all its forms, and it’s the kind of place where you can stumble across your next favourite band or simply soak up the atmosphere.

Speaking of drinks, the commitment to sustainability continues at the bar. Coffee is supplied by local sustainable roastery Coopers in Marlow, and the shelves are stocked with vegan wines and beers. One of their best-sellers is Tiny Dots, a crisp pilsner brewed by the queer and trans-owned Queer Brewing. That’s the sort of pint I can get behind.

Other Space Arts is proof that good food and good art belong together, and Windsor is all the better for having them. If you’re anywhere near the area, take yourself there for a meal, a show, or both.

You’ll be supporting an independent business that’s doing something genuinely special, and you’ll be very well fed in the process.
