There are few things in this world that bring humans the same level of joy as a well-made pizza.
That’s why I’m sharing this little celebratory moment for One Planet Pizza. This father and son team has been confidently perfecting vegan pizza since 2016 and now seems as good a time as any to shout about them from the rooftops. Or at least from my blog.
Mike and Joe are the plant-powered brains behind this operation and they’re on a mission to rescue the world from the tragedy of dull pizza. One Planet Pizza started as an idea to get top quality vegan pizzas into the mouths of the masses and they are doing just that.
Their improved recipes have got me feeling intrigued. The vegan pepperoni pizza is a full-on showstopper. Hand stretched sourdough base, secret family recipe tomato sauce, melty vegan cheese, and smoky slices of plant-based pepperoni.
Of course, they’re not a one-flavour wonder. If you’re feeling spicy, there’s the Veg Tex Mex which comes loaded with seasoned veg and a bit of heat. The Hawaiian is their sweet-and-savoury take for people who like pineapple with their pizza party. And let’s not forget the Margherita, which is a classic done properly.
One Planet Pizza isn’t just tasty, it’s also rooted in the idea that food can be a force for good. It’s about enjoying indulgent comfort food while making a better choice for the planet and the animals we share it with. That’s a mission I can get behind.
