I have never believed that being vegan should stop at just avoiding animal products.
Don’t get me wrong. I love animals and won’t eat or wear them for the rest of my life. But if we’re going to build a better world for animals, we need to take a serious look at the systems that hurt people too.

Veganism shouldn’t sit quietly in a little corner of ethical living. It has the power to shake up oppressive systems across the board. If we’re serious about compassion, then our activism must stretch beyond the plate and across communities.
We can care about the planet, we can care about the animals, and we can care about our neighbours all at the same time.
That’s why I’m absolutely thrilled to be helping out with a fundraising supper club coming up at Unity Diner in London on Monday 7 July. This is not your average charity dinner. This is a delicious, socially aware, action-packed evening designed to raise funds for both human and non-human wellbeing.
Unity Diner’s chefs have created a one-off, three-course vegan meal for the occasion. It’s plant-based luxury, made with love and bursting with purpose. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity. You heard that right. Every single penny.
Half of the funds raised will go to Made In Hackney, a community cookery school and food support service that champions climate-conscious, inclusive, and culturally diverse plant-based eating. They provide free community meals for people struggling with food insecurity and run classes that empower individuals to cook nutritious, low-impact meals.
The other half of the ticket sales will be donated to Surge Sanctuary, a haven for rescued farmed animals. Their work goes beyond animal rescue. They are reshaping the way people think about speciesism, cruelty, and the complex lives of non-human animals.
We’re running this event to show that it’s not only possible but essential to hold multiple truths at once. You can fight hunger and fight for animal liberation at the same time. You can share food while reducing your environmental impact. You can experience happiness while dismantling injustice.
Huge thanks to Honestly Tasty and Mr Organic for donating incredible ingredients. These are two compassionate brands who put their money where their ethics are, and their generosity is helping make this fundraiser a reality.
If you’re in or around London, I’d love to see you there. Come eat. Come support. Come be part of an event that feeds people, helps animals, and doesn’t set fire to the planet in the process.
We can fight injustice with food, with joy, and with community. And we can do it all at once.
Tickets are going fast, so snap yours up if you want to be part of something deliciously good. Book now.
