There are some things in life that are just meant to go together. Tofish and chips. Gays and Kylie. A chocolate chip cookie and a glass of oat milk.
And now thanks to the brilliance of En Root and the Ritzy, we can add a vegan meal and an iconic cinema experience to this list of inseparable duos.

I was visiting the glorious Ritzy Cinema in Brixton today and suddenly remembered something a little bit magical.
Did you know that tucked away inside this legendary venue is a fully operational En Root kitchen? That’s right. The same En Root that has been dishing up Indian-inspired plant-based brilliance from their food truck and beyond for years. They have set up shop inside the Ritzy and they are serving up some serious flavour.
This little slice of vegan joy means that you can settle in for a movie knowing you’ve got delicious, colourful, feel-good food just steps away from your cinema seat. Just order at the bar!
Vegan food at the movies should be the reality all over the city.

The Ritzy itself is already one of London’s most beloved cinemas. It’s a true cultural gem with history, charm, and a community spirit that’s hard to match. Add a vegan kitchen into the mix and it becomes, quite frankly, unstoppable. You can even head upstairs to their roof terrace and bar to soak up the Brixton buzz while sipping something nice and chatting about your cinematic influences.
It’s got it all. Films, food, and fun times.
And if you’re not heading to Brixton anytime soon, don’t panic. En Root is also flying the flag for vibrant vegan food in both Clapham and Peckham. So wherever you are in South London, you’re never too far from something delicious.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to see a film and eat my body weight in Tandoori mushroom wings. See you at the Ritzy!
