There’s nowhere I’d rather be on a sunny afternoon than the beer garden at The Spread Eagle in Homerton. This spot isn’t just any pub. It’s a 100 percent vegan pub that’s been breaking boundaries and raising the bar for years when it comes to plant-based food and drink in the capital.
From the minute it opened its doors, it was doing something bold. And it’s still doing it brilliantly.
The food menu is packed with the sort of comforting pub classics you want after a long week or to help ease yourself gently into a Sunday. Think proper roast dinners, dreamy desserts, and everything in between.
The drinks list is equally exciting with beers, wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic options all doing their part to show that compassion doesn’t mean compromise.
Inside you’ll find a friendly, relaxed vibe with a pool table and a line-up of events including karaoke and DJ nights. The Spread Eagle has created a space where everyone feels welcome and where good food and good times are guaranteed.
It’s more than just a place to eat or drink. It’s a cornerstone of the community.
And while you’re there, you can also make a real difference. Right on the bar sits a donation terminal for vegan food security legends Made In Hackney. Pop a few pounds in between drinks and support a grassroots organisation making huge change.
