Best nine of Instagram 2017
As I do at the end of each year, I like to share the most popular photos from my Instagram account from across the previous twelve months.
As you can see from the list below, Wagamama made the list three times and bizarrely the same dish made up two of those posts! If you work at Wagamama and you make a lot of money, I won’t say no to a monetary showing of appreciation. I didn’t post those pics for my own financial return, but holy shit did you people get some incredible PR from me this year.
Some of the entries are surprising (that popcorn chicken in at number 3 and those tiffin bites appearing AT ALL?!) and it is extremely telling that eight of the nine photos feature products from huge, non-vegan multinational companies.
If you need proof of how mainstream and commodified veganism and plant-based eating has become, this list might just come in handy.
Enjoy reliving these most-liked moments from 2017 and if you don’t already, follow me over on Instagram for new adventures in non-animal living in 2018.
Here we go, starting with number nine and counting down to the most popular:

How about a decadent chocolate pecan tart at @wagamama_uk ?!?! I accidentally stumbled into a staff tasting session in Soho and overheard them all talking about the #vegan desserts they were trialling. Of course I introduced myself and managed to get invited to try (and take some tarts away!). This tart is being launched in January so I’m extremely grateful for this sneak preview. It tastes incredible and I’m sure it will be another runaway success for their menu. I also tried the passionfruit and chocolate vegan tart so check my feed for that photo. I’m absolutely loving these vegan options and I’m hopeful they will roll out across the UK.

A few nights ago I was invited to a tasting event for the new #vegan @baileysofficial product. The drink is absolutely delicious and this peanut butter and maple syrup cocktail their mixologist made me was fabulous. The vegan drink is called Almande and is available only in Whole Foods Market UK stores for the time being but is rolling out wider soon. I have a bet with the Baileys team about this photo. If this post can get more than 1,000 likes, they will sample the new #vegan product at Hackney Downs Vegan Market THIS SATURDAY. Help me win this bet! Hit like and tag friends who will like to know about this almond based glory. If we win this bet and reach 1,000 likes, I'll see you at Hackney Downs Vegan Market on Saturday for some tasting! #baileysalmande #drinkresponsibly
And finally, here are the top nine in a handy grid for a recap if you need it.
See you all next year!
