Vegan ice cream wars strike

We have a casualty.

The Vegan Ice Cream Wars are a brutal battleground and certainly not for those with a nervous disposition. It is a cruel world where creating a product that people enjoy is not enough. The prohibitive cost behind producing, promoting and distributing would make most people not want to get out of bed.

Darrelle and Phil of Razzle Dazzle Ices were brave enough to get out of bed. For the last three years, they have been creating their range of vegan ice creams and tirelessly promoting the products at vegan festivals all over the country.

Razzle Dazzle Ices even came along to my giant bowling fundraiser for Sea Shepherd back in January 2013 and shared their popular treats with attendees.

But the sad news has arrived via a Facebook announcement posted by Phil:

3 Years ago Darrelle and I started a business making dairy free ices. We branded ourselves and approached the market soon gaining Vegan Trademark status. The business grew well and we secured national distribution in January 2014. Sadly that was a year later than we needed and in March we had to make a decision to close the business. We would like to thank all the amazing customers and acquaintances that we have met and made over the last 3 years, thanks for being part of our journey.

So, there we have it. Another vegan-friendly business lost.

I want to publicly thank Darrelle and Phil for their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to the vegan community. They were at every event they could physically get to, never without smiles on their faces.

It is sad to see them bow out.

      • Hi Shannon. I am not sure what you mean. You already know my blog address as you just commented on my site. Maybe you mean what platform do I use. In that case, it is WordPress. Or maybe you are just a spambot. Whatever it is, have a good day!

      • Very late on this one but surely Shannon was directing her comment at the comment from razzledazzleices?!
