Drink list for Glasgow Vegan Beer Fest

For a lot of people, summer means attending beer festivals.

For me, summer means attending vegan beer festivals! My series of Vegan Beer Fest UK events has become synonymous with this time of year and I’m thrilled to be heading back to Scotland next weekend for the third annual Glasgow Vegan Beer Fest.

Run in conjunction with Mono and William Bros, this event is set to be a rollicking Bank Holiday Sunday celebration of beer, cider, food, and karaoke!

Almost 25% of tickets have already been snapped up so book online now if you want a £4 advance ticket (£7 on the door).

We are excited about the food and karaoke, but of course it is all about the beer.

Check out the INCREDIBLE beer list for the Sunday August 5, 2018 event below:

The aroma/flavour is fruit-filled, dank and resinous, with plenty of tropical mango giving a moreish drinkability. Fermented with our house American ale yeast (WLP001) for a refreshingly clean finish, this IPA is also our first gluten-free beer using Brewers Clarex®

Our take on this juicy hop takes the best of its exceptional characteristics to brew a bold yet balanced IPA. A simple base of British pale malt is coloured by small kettle additions of our UK and US hops blend for a soft, fruity bitterness
  • ORVAL – Orval – 6.2% ABV (33cl bottle) – Low/No alcohol – A world-class Belgian Trappist pale ale. Famous for its beautiful “Belgian lace” left on the glass from its huge head, this orangey-amber coloured ale is as complex as they come. It’s smooth yet crisp, tart yet dry. It carries with it flavours of lemon rind, freshly-cut hay, notes of spice and aromas of flowers and lemon
  • SCHLENKERLA RAUCHBIER – Helles Lagerbier – 4.3% ABV (50cl bottle) – Smoked Lager – Brewed with fine Bavarian aroma hops from the area around the city of Nürnberg. It’s lagered in century old caves underneath the historic Schlenkerla brewery and maltings. Schlenkerla Helles is boiled in the same copper kettles and bottom fermented by the same yeast as the historic Schlenkerla Smokebeer. Its subtle smokiness without using smoke malt makes “Helles Schlenkerla Lager” a unique representative of the classic lager beer style “Bavarian Helles”
  • STILLWATER – Classique – 6.0% ABV (35cl can) – Farmhouse Ale – A postmodern deconstruction of the American industrial lager made with naughty ingredients like corn and rice, completed with pilsner malt and lots of your favorite old-school American hops and farmhouse ale yeast.. “your Grandfather’s new beer”

  • UP FRONT – Ismael – 6.0% ABV (33cl can) – IPA – Showcases the subtly sweet malt characteristics, heady hop notes & robust bitterness of an American IPA. Bitter, floral, piney, resinous, fruity & dank with a clean and crisp malt backbone. Unfined, unfiltered, & vegan friendly
  • WILLIAMS BROS – Roisin – 4.2% ABV (33cl bottle) – Tayberry Ale – We brew a light, crisp blonde ale and add bucket loads of fresh Tayberries into cold tank & leave the two to mingle for 3 weeks.
