222 Veggie Vegan ate my heart

Rest assured, I know about food.

During the course of my FGV existence, I have consumed food in many countries and across several continents. I consider myself quite the connoisseur when it comes to vegan cuisine. You should seriously consider these self-proclaimed credentials as you ponder my recommendation that you head to 222 Veggie Vegan at your earliest convenience.

This unassuming eatery is nestled on North End Road in West Kensington, London. It offers an all-you-can-eat buffet during the day and an a la carte menu in the evenings. The food is healthy, hot and incredibly tasty.

My visit took place on a Sunday afternoon which meant I could serve myself from the hot buffet and I could serve myself from the hot buffet and I could… get the idea? For £7.50 I ate my fill of savoury potatoes, aubergine with tofu, brown rice, stuffing balls, mixed sauteed vegetables and mouthwatering, creamy chickpeas. Every mouthful was a sensation. After two trips to the self-service bar, I had to call it a day.

Vegan and organic lager

If delicious, wholesome, all-you-can-eat food isn’t enough to inspire you to travel to West London, how about a cold bottle of vegan, organic lager? My eyes truly lit up on spying the 222 Veggie Vegan drinks menu. Every beverage is vegan and I was delighted to purchase and consume an organic lager by Samuel Smith Brewery. I was in FGV heaven.

But why stop there? While I was over-consuming, I thought it best to sample a dish from the entirely-vegan dessert menu. See below for a photo of the Spiced Island Pie. This creamy tart was reminiscent of pumpkin pie and the tasty filling sat atop a base of crunchy nuts and coconut. First class.
