FGV reading part two

With the release of my first ever book just days away, I am celebrating by sharing some short excerpt videos.

In this video, I briefly read from the Ethical Vegan chapter of the book and discuss the use of non-inclusive language by mainstream vegan activists.

You can click here to buy the book online. If you are in London on January 4, 2018, click here to discover how you can join me at my official launch day celebration.

You can also see my first video reading here.

  1. Sean,

I appreciate and agree with your comments about misuse of speech about human oppressions, e.g.that of women, to advance the cause of opposition to animal abuse and exploitation, but do not agree that this is a, presumably generalised, “problem of vegans”. If you are talking about misuse of a narrative about women’s oppression, most vegans ARE women. Surely it is more a case of the use of inappropriate language by institutions that claim to be vegan, and more specifically, by their ‘leading lights’/principle spokespeople. In essence, if you are really referring to the likes of PETA and Ingrid Newkirk, then perhaps you should say so.

I may be sticking my neck out here, but I think it is high time these people were named and shamed.

    In vegan solidarity,

    • Oh, yes. My book talks about PETA specifically and I’ve written numerous blog posts about their harmful campaign tactics over the years. No fear in naming and shaming in these parts! LOL
