BREAKING NEWS: Ms. Cupcake

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, has put vegan sweets on the London food map quite like Mellissa Morgan. Mellissa’s Ms. Cupcake brand is known and loved by people all over the capital, while her recipe collection has sold by the pallet load to devoted fans.

Ms. Cupcake is a vegan brand that has come an impressive distance in a short time, but a booming Brixton bakery and plans for a follow up book do not signal anywhere close to the end of the story.

Ms. Cupcake and Mellissa Morgan have some big news to share.

Ms. Cupcake, the UK’s first entirely vegan bakery has announced that its vegan cupcakes will be available in Whole Foods Market stores right across the UK from April 20th, 2015. Longtime fans, as well as newcomers to the brand, will be able to get their hands on the decadent treats in locations stretching as far as Richmond, Stoke Newington and Glasgow.

Customers will be able to pick from a menu of eight gorgeous flavours, including four exclusive to Whole Foods Market. Blackberry Cheesecake, Carrot & Pineapple, Banana Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Explosion are among the flavours heading for the shelves of Whole Foods around the country.

People up and down the country had better get ready for the indulgent 50/50 ratio of cake to icing that has made Ms.Cupcake the go-to treat for cake lovers.

The partnership is an exciting step forward for the independent Brixton-based bakery, which has expanded from a small start-up to supplying a large retailer in only four years. This news not only signals success for Ms. Cupcake, it also highlights the growing demand for vegan food in the UK.

“We are on a big mission to bring decadent vegan cakes to the masses”, said Mellissa. “There is no doubt a launch at Whole Foods will ensure amazing free-from products will get to a wider customer base”.

This is big news, indeed. Congratulations to Mellissa Morgan and her team. Which Whole Foods Market store will you be exploring for Ms. Cupcake treats?
