Potato forever

I adore potato. It is my favourite food. I love it so deeply, I even have a blog category dedicated to this precious gift from the Earth.

Knowing this about me, you can imagine the utter joy I felt upon discovering a vegetarian baked potato cafe during my recent trip to Edinburgh. This wonderland of carbs is filled with vegetarian and vegan options to pile on top of piping hot potato.

Even though I was only in the Scottish city for one night, I managed to visit The Baked Potato Shop twice and it was just about all the food I could manage during my visit. The servings were mammoth!

Over two days, I enjoyed a medium serving topped with vegan haggis and baked beans as well as a small serving topped with vegan haggis, beans and spinach salad. I cannot stress how large the portions are and I implore you to seriously reconsider if you are thinking of a large dish. If the FGV couldn’t cope, what hope is there for you?

  3. I LOVE this place! Whenever I go to Edinburgh I always pay a little visit and get some potato goodness. Their veg haggis is to die for 🙂

  4. A bloke in America ate nothing but potatoes for sixty days! It was a protest at all the low carb diets, he’s a potato producer of some sort – it was 20 potatoes a day for 60 days. Do you love potatoes THAT much?

  5. […] addition to my baked potato experience, one of the most memorable frenzied pit stops for food involved vegan fudge. Thick, creamy […]
