Take this for just what it is

A few whispers have been floating around the vegan London scene for a short while and I jumped into the action today to discover the truth for myself.

Are the pita pockets at Maoz in Old Compton Street vegan? I found out…

A resounding ‘yes’ is the answer. How cool is that?!

I stopped by the store today with my painstaking questions demanding clarification and the staff couldn’t have been lovelier. They were at first confused as to why anyone would mistake their bread as containing animal-derived ingredients. In their experience, the pita pockets have always been suitable for vegan diets.

Being the nosy FGV that I am, I didn’t stop there. I asked them to produce a packet so I could view the ingredients list with my very own eyes…. and there it was. The bread packets list their suitability for vegetarians and the ingredients list contains nothing derived from animal sources.

The bread is vegan, folks!

Get to Maoz ASAP to celebrate with some piping hot fries and a falafel pita pocket packed full of tasty goodness. Just steer clear of the coleslaw and mayo… not so vegan friendly but everything else is good to go.

I love a happy ending, don’t you?
