Sex without cruelty

If you wanna get freaky, you don’t want to do it with animal products on your private parts. Do you?

Condoms are probably the last thing on your mind when you think of veganism. Of all the products to be considered for animal ingredients, these safer sex devices don’t often get a second look. The truth of the matter is most big name brands do contain ingredients of non-human animal origin and/or that have been tested on non-consenting creatures.

Green Action Food Coop at the University of Leeds

During a recent visit to the University of Leeds campus in West Yorkshire, I stopped by the Green Action Food Co-op located in the Union building in order to see how the shop front has been traveling. Not many people know that this FGV attended the university as a student during a semester exchange placement during 2009. This was my first visit since then and the co-op looks stronger than ever. This volunteer run, not for profit outlet has everything an ethical shopper needs to get through those tough uni years. There are vegan items a plenty; chocolate, stock powder, bulk goods, nuts, lip balms, clothes detergent and yes, even vegan condoms.

The condoms on sale at the Green Action Food Co-op are the Condomi brand. This line of condoms is produced in Cologne, Germany and also available for purchase through the UK Condomi distributor website. The company proudly proclaim their products free from animal-derived ingredients and they meet or surpass all UK and international safety standards. I like to recommend products that I have personally used and Condomi joins that distinguished list. They are reliable and do exactly what you need them to.

If you are in Leeds and in the mood for some cruelty-free contact, pop in to the Green Action Food Co-op. They’ve got what you need.

The store is open Monday through Friday 10am – 6pm during term time. They sell cakes Monday and Thursday. You can find their location here.
